How to book your learner's licence test

You book the learner's licence test at a driving licence testing centre (DLTC). Here is what you need, step by step, so you don't get turned away on the day.

Who can apply

Step by step

  1. Choose a testing centre. Any registered driving licence testing centre (DLTC) can test you.
  2. Book a date. Book in person at the DLTC, or online through the NaTIS online booking service (online.natis.gov.za) where your province offers it. You pay the booking fee when you book; fees are set by each province, so check the amount when you book.
  3. Practise before the day. Aim to pass two full mock tests in a row with every section above its pass mark.
  4. Write the test on the date you were given, and bring everything listed below.
